Collaborators

Samrakshan's primary collaborators in this programme are the Department of Animal Husbandry of the Government of Delhi and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The Department of Animal Husbandry, by making the necessary infrastructure available to Samrakshan, and the MCD by catching and releasing dogs, have effected a synergetic alliance with Samrakshan that will go a long way towards stabilising the stray dog population and building public confidence.

From the Department of Animal Husbandry we would particularly like to acknowledge the assistance of Dr. K.L. Khurana. Similarly the team at MCD, including Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Dr. M.L. Sharma and the Zonal Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Verma have been exceptionally cooperative. A special word needs to be put in for the MCD Commissioner Mr. Rakesh Mehta, due to whose initiative this programme has been possible.

We have also received heart warming cooperation from our counterpart animal welfare NGOs in Delhi.
